Friday’s edition of KOKE in the Morning was all over the place in the best possible way.

Michelle and Scotty kicked things off by revisiting some of the more questionable decisions they’ve made over the years. From rodeo shenanigans to a wild night at ACL Live that seemed like a fantastic idea at the time, the stories were a reminder that good judgment is often overrated.

Scotty also provided another update on his ongoing battle with Facebook customer service, which appears to be roughly as easy as getting a live person on the phone from the moon.

We somehow found ourselves discussing America through the eyes of Europeans, which led to conversations about our food, our habits, Whataburger, Sonic and, for reasons nobody can fully explain, Shrek.

Michelle shared an update on her recovery from surgery, and from there things took a turn toward blue hot dogs, porch geese, and another Fun Friday episode of “This or That?”

With Father’s Day weekend here, we looked back at some of television’s most legendary dads and the characters who helped raise generations of kids.

Later in the morning, country music heartbreak took center stage as we debated the greatest breakup songs of all time.

We also squeezed in conversations about disappointing pizza, nuisance wild turkeys and Rita’s completely rational fear of hot air balloons.

As always, you can listen anytime on the KOKE FM app, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and KOKEFM.com.

Now featuring Michelle Lewis every Friday!

Thursday’s edition of KOKE in the Morning kicked off with a discussion about the rise of slot machine influencers and the never-ending pursuit of internet fame before turning our attention to celebrity gossip TikTok accounts and the hypocrisy that often comes with them. That conversation naturally led to Britney Spears and her latest unpredictable social media behavior.

As the weekend approaches, we talked about upcoming local events, Father’s Day plans, and the internet’s reaction to Rita’s new couch. Scotty also provided updates on his ongoing battle with medical bills and the latest chapter in his CPAP machine saga.

News headlines included the deadly plane crash in Laredo and the latest developments involving the tropical storm in the Gulf. We also discussed the growing number of international soccer fans embracing American traditions as the World Cup approaches.

One of the morning’s most interesting segments centered around a six-year-old who discovered a 1,300-year-old Viking sword during a class field trip. We also celebrated the safe return of two missing giraffe calves and marked National Mascot Day with a discussion about Rita’s time as Captain Kettle.

Later in the show, we tackled a list ranking some of music history’s biggest D-bags before diving into Reddit’s picks for the worst cities in America.

Hollywood Buzz, Ballou News, fast-food rankings, upcoming segments on KOKE, and a little stand-up comedy rounded out the morning.

Wednesday’s edition of KOKE in the Morning covered everything from CIA whistleblowers and dog crimes to Grammy rule changes and a $13,000 robot toilet.

Insomnia hit Rita and Scotty hard, but that’s nothing new. Thank God for TikTok rabbit holes.

The conversation quickly shifted to Rita and Wes’ big night out at BJ’s, but dogs remained a major theme throughout the morning. Holly found herself in trouble once again, listeners shared stories about destructive pets, and we learned about unusual dog diets that included everything from sand to hearing aids.

Politics and current events made their usual appearance with the latest headlines surrounding Kash Patel and Scotts Miracle-Gro stepping in to help repair the White House lawn after the recent UFC event.

Food news gave us plenty to talk about, including an Olive Garden wedding that had people scratching their heads and an Alfredo sauce recall that reminded Rita of her former life as a health inspector and diet technician.

Later in the show, we covered a luxury robot toilet with a price tag higher than some used cars and checked in on the latest entertainment headlines involving Rita’s boyfriend Glen Powell and a nostalgic list of television shows with only one surviving cast member.

Country music fans got their share of news as well. We talked about upcoming Grammy rule changes and Koe Wetzel’s new apparel line.

We wrapped things up with Father’s Day comedy, ice cream shop drama, and enough random detours to keep everyone guessing where the conversation would go next.
