Wabash Riverfest 2026 was an amazing success, we met so many members of the community, and we won the 2026 Wabash Riverfest Conservation Award of $1,000! These funds will be dedicated to creating an educational walking trail through the Klinghammer Goodmann Sloan Nature Preserve at Wolf Park, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beautiful sights and sounds of wild Indiana.

Wolf Park has been rewilding its properties since it began in 1972. Through over 50 years of dedicated conservation work, we have been able to recreate visions of how this land may have appeared before its transformation for agriculture. The Klinghammer Goodmann Sloan Nature Preserve was established in 2016 as a 27-acre bat and quail habitat. Endangered species have been documented in the preserve, including the black-crowned night heron, barn owl, and the golden-winged warbler. We are so excited to bring this project to life, and for visitors of Wolf Park to experience this preserve in a new, educational way!

Congrats to all our runners in this year's Water Drop 5k! We hope the runners enjoyed using our brand new connector ramp from the Sagamore Trail down to the Heritage Trail!
