Yall… I really didn’t think I would have to do this 🤦🏼♀️. We are not here to argue or go back and forth with absolutely anyone. Did we want to have to do this? Absolutely not. Did we want to make this post? No. Do we want to serve our community in the same way we have since Helene? Yes. We are doing the best we can in making this work and have worked with a lot of people to continue to do what we love, helping. Our volunteers work tirelessly, our owners have put more money and time than they will ever admit, and all any of us wanted to do was help. Please don’t kick someone when they’re already feeling like they’ve failed.
Hey Hey!!
We have some news. It is with a heavy heart that we tell you we have to make some changes to our distribution center. As you know we have served our community since the day after devastation hit our area. We have been beyond blessed with our donors to be able to serve tens of thousands of hot meals and supplies to those in need. With that said, those that know where we are located are within city limits. Therefore, when we purchased this building, it had to be "zoned", and it was zoned for community shopping due to our business venture. Unfortunately, that means we are unable to give away supplies without charging for them. We absolutely understand that the town is diligently doing their job and holding all businesses to the same standards/rules. With that said we will have to begin charging for supplies. We want to be more than reasonable and will have canned goods priced at .10 or less, diapers at $2, etc. All money collected from our shoppers will be converted to "vouchers" so we are able to continue to service our community that may not be able to afford to pay for their items. We cannot express how much we hate doing this. Everyone deserves groceries, medicine, and their everyday essentials even if they cannot afford them. Our community has been through so much in the last 6 months and I have watched nothing short of seeing the area that I grew up in pull together and stand together. To help their neighbor, to help their enemy, and to help a stranger. I hope we can continue to do this as we work daily to build back. We as a community are not ok, we are not whole, we are still struggling, and WE plan to continue to do everything we can to help our community. If you have read this far, we appreciate you and we need your help to continue our mission. We need you to work hand in hand with us. We need you to be part of the healing and helping. Come volunteer, make a donation, or just walk next door and do a mental health check on your neighbor. You never know you might just be the one that saves them that day.
As always,
We love and we are here for you in the best capacity we can be 💜
