Pre-revolution Iranian graphic design on 45 vinyl.
Scanned from my baba Hossien’s personal collection—objects that hold memory, lineage, and place.

I was named after both of my grandfathers, though I never met them. This is one way I stay connected.

🎉🎈🎉As some of you know today is Bandcamp Friday. If you ask me, every day is Bandcamp Friday. But this edition of Bandcamp Friday is extra special to me. It’s the first one I can celebrate with a physical release I worked on from ideation to physical release all independently.

First off, gratitude to my brother for properly introducing me to so many years ago. I realized today that from our first email to it’s been 2 years since the initial pitch to selling out the first show to celebrating the second show with an album and vinyl release on September 12th, 2025.

Everything on this project was truly a labor of love and I’m infinitely grateful that Jonathan trusted me to oversee this project but also to coordinate and work with the creatives to put everything together.

I worked with both friends and family and had a vision and pitched it to Jonathan to develop the creative direction behind this project and I’m really happy how this turned out.

In no particular order I’m going to thank everyone who had their foot, hand, mouth, and support on this journey:

- drums, bandleader, artist
- vocals
- vocals
- electric/acoustic guitar (live album/vinyl)
- piano (live album/vinyl)
- saxophone (both shows / live album / vinyl)
- bass guitar (live album/vinyl)
- videography team/editing
mixing/mastering
- photography, album layout/design
- Boom Clap logo / first show flyer design
- 2nd show photographywav - piano 2nd showwav - bass 2nd show
- electric guitar 2nd show
- DJ first show
aka - project support/marketing/strategy

And all my friends and family (both mine and Jonathan’s) who supported the process from start to finish. Please support and purchase vinyl, stream, and come to our next show on October 20th. :)

💫This Tuesday is the last screening of this Persian New Year series I put together. I feel so privileged and honored to be able to present this series as a gesture of appreciation and means to share my heritage with our local film community and uplifting the next generation of Iranian filmmakers. I never imagined the reception this would receive nor the new friendships and connections I’ve formed. This whole thing came together a little over four weeks ago when I had an idea. A lot of love and gratitude to my good friend who owns Cinefile Video and allowed me to program this series at the shop. It’s only fitting that the last week and Q/A of this series concludes with my friend . Through Alicia I was able to connect to three of the other filmmakers.

Week four and our final week of Persian New Year film screenings concludes this Tuesday.

💫Thank you to everyone who came this past Tuesday. I’m seeing a lot of the same faces and even some new ones. New friendships have been formed, and this has been so rewarding not only for myself but from those of you who have told me in person. We’re building a community. 🥺I would also like to thank our guest director from past Tuesday (Yegane Moghaddam) for presenting her film and the very insightful Q/A after her film.
