Five paintings in, and I’m starting to see where this little series wants to go. 🌸
I’m exploring color, shape, simplification, and just how much I can leave out while still making you feel the flower.
This one is Pale Pink Hydrangeas—although I’m pretty sure hydrangeas will be making another appearance. They’re just too beautiful (and too challenging 😂) to attempt only once.
Five down, and I’m already curious about the next one.

Three paintings in, and I think I’m finally seeing what this series wants to be.

I started this little project to explore color, shape, and a little more abstraction—and putting these three paintings together this morning, something finally clicked.

They’re different flowers, but somehow they belong together.

And now I’m really curious to see where this goes. 🌸

Four paintings in, and I think I’m finally starting to see what this little series wants to be.
I started this project with the idea of making small florals and exploring color, shape, and a little more abstraction with each one. But it wasn't until I put these three paintings together that the connection really clicked for me.
Pale Sunflowers, Peach Daisies • Two Pink Peonies • Orange Ranunculus
Four very different flowers, but somehow they belong together. And that makes me very excited to see what comes next. 🌸

Four down, eight to go. 🌸
This is number four in my mini floral series—a collection of small original paintings exploring color, shape, and a little more abstraction.
I’m starting to get a pretty good idea of what this series wants to be, and I’m having so much fun watching it evolve from one painting to the next.

The early layers may not be the most beautiful part, but they’re the scaffolding that gives the painting somewhere to go.
Then comes the color. And that’s when the magic starts. 🎨
I think there’s probably a metaphor for life in there somewhere. 😂

“Magnolias in Pink” 12x12 inches Acrylic on canvas
I wanted to explore the bold shapes of magnolia blossoms against a soft pink ground, using layers of unexpected color beneath the flowers to keep the painting lively and dimensional.

I’m giving myself permission to play. 🌸

After years of putting pressure on myself to improve, master, catch up, and always reach for the next skill, I’m taking a little detour.

I’m painting 12 small floral paintings—just flowers, beautiful color, light, and the joy of making something with my hands.

They’ll eventually be available to collect here, but for now, I’d love for you to come along as I paint them.

My painting, “Daisies in Deb’s Garden,” is about one of my favorite things: that quiet, golden hour when the light begins to soften and an ordinary summer evening suddenly feels a little magical.
This scene takes me back to Maine—to long days outside, gardens overflowing with flowers, and that feeling of not quite being ready for the day to end.
I wanted to capture not just the daisies, but the feeling of being there: surrounded by flowers, warm evening light, and the memory of a place you’d love to return to. 🌼 20”x20” Acrylic on Canvas

Magic Hour
There’s a particular moment at the lake when the sun is almost gone, but night hasn’t arrived yet. The sky is still glowing, while the water has already turned deep and dark.
That in-between light is what drew me to this painting.
Layer by layer, I wanted to capture that quiet feeling—the stillness, the depth, and the little flashes of warmth disappearing along the horizon.
A moment just before day becomes night. 🌅
