Sharing on behalf of our founder and Board Director Lara Morton:
Paid acting opportunity!
I am working with an advertising agency to help cast a PSA from the CT Dept of Public Health and they need 40 actors who could fit one of the types below to submit a 30 second self-tape looking over a crib (shot from baby’s POV) to say “Aw, what a cute baby!” And then some additional filler improv.
This is a holiday time PSA to promote vaccinations in infants.
They want a wide range of types, but they are particularly interested in actors who are bilingual or native Spanish speaking for a few of the roles.
Pay is $1000 for one year of unlimited television, radio and online use. Additional years will pay $800.
The work: 3-4 hours in Woodbridge on Monday, 10/20.
The types*:
An Aunt type

Accessories: Wears glasses
A service station type
Physical descriptors:
Gender: Male
Age: 50s

Hair: Lightly greasy, wiry, shoulder-length with bangs that hang over his forehead
Physical traits: Visible deep wrinkles from years of working outside, tanned and weathered skin, scruffy with visible body hair, dirt under fingernails and on hands

A supermarket checkout person type
Physical Descriptors:
Gender: Female
Age: Early 20s
Ethnicity: Black

An office worker type
Physical descriptors:
Gender: Male
Age: 40s
Ethnicity: White
Hair: Messed up from lack of sleep, looks like he ran his hands through it too many times
Wardrobe: Button-up shirt (slightly wrinkled), tie tied poorly, lanyard badge hanging around his neck
Physical traits: Visibly exhausted, dark circles under eyes, looks like he has seasonal allergies year-round (watery eyes, red nose), currently sick but dragged himself to work anyway
Prop: holding a used tissue and a coffee
And a mom
MOTHER (Non-speaking role)
Physical Descriptors:
Gender: Female
Age: 30s
Ethnicity: Latina or half white/half Latina
Wardrobe: Comfortable but put-together, the kind of casual that says "new mom who's trying"
* If you sort of approximate the description but don’t fit it exactly, submit anyway. Just give a great self-tape. The casting directors may be inspired by what they see and make adjustments.
They are also looking for a 6-8 month old baby, so if you know anyone who has one.... that would be a great bonus!
The vibe is REAL people. You can be effusive when talking to baby, but don’t be overly theatrical about it. Just real.
I will provide a more detailed description of each character to anyone who emails me with interest at [email protected].
I would like to have these self-tapes in by COB on Friday.
Thank you! 🙂
