I’ve decided to adopt a US Postal Service-ish approach to winter. Neither freezing temps nor wind chill nor snow & ice stays this artist from the (sometimes) swift completion of paintings that foreshadow the warmer seasons ahead.

A few steps into a new painting. First, some random black, followed by random marks w/color pencils, crayons, etc, followed by some blue shapes, followed by assorted warm colors (red, yellow, magenta, etc) using a brush & palette knife. This is all prep work. As I continue adding layers I will cover most of what you see here, allowing bits to poke through. A lot of steps & a lot of randomness but it all seems to work out in the end…
