In the west entrance pavilion for the Salt Lake Temple, magnificent art-glass windows have been installed, just ahead of the Easter season. The windows depict Jesus Christ looking heavenward. He is surrounded by adoring disciples, while angels look down from the clouds. Lanterns and light boxes have also been added to Temple Square, each celebrating a name or photographic representation of the Lord, Jesus Christ. (Photo: Jacob Oscarson)

To the untrained eye, it doesn't look like much. But look closely at the upper level and picture this: Cabinets full of stained glass, people standing around a light box table with grozing pliers in hand, the sound of glass snapping, the smell of sunshine... Ah yes! The future home of Biesinger Art Glass Studio! It won't be long now!!

Dreamers and Believers

Hi! We are David and Loralyn Biesinger, owners of Biesinger Art Glass Studio. Both of us are what you might call “dreamers” and “believers.” One day, after 25+ years of building custom cabinets and doors, David walked in the house and said, “It’s time to live your dream, Loralyn!” He was in the middle of designing cabinets for a local bar and grill and visualized how magnificent the wood and mirrors on the front wall would look accompanied with illuminated stained glass. It was a brilliant move. Challenge accepted! Around that same time, we were also considering where to purchase leaded glass windows for some architectural doors we were building for a different job and realized, “Hey, we are artists. Custom, hand-crafted glass is a product we could offer many of our customers to avoid the middleman and let the customer be involved in conceptualizing their own design.” That is where the glass making began. After learning from professionals and through years of personal experience, we now do stained and leaded glass panels for every occasion or building type, including triple-glazed windows for exteriors. But the good news is, we still do wood working, too! We offer the best of both worlds and love it when people come to us for help creating their own dreams.
