I love painting with the residents at Suites of Ankeny and several of them remind me of some of my favorite relatives. Melvin was one of those people. He actually reminded me so much of my favorite Uncle that they could have been kindred spirits. Melvin passed away last month and I'll miss him so much next time I paint with the group. The last time I was there was in September, and he wasn't feeling very well. I told him we'll be sure to paint the beach scene for his daughter next time. Now that I know there won't be a next time, I had to finish the painting for him. The sweet, Amazing Michelle said she'll get it to his daughter 💛.

Melvin, at our first paint party let me know he was color blind. I asked him what color he could see and know what it was so he could fully enjoy his paintings. That color was 💛 yellow. So we always used yellows. I actually rarely paint with yellows myself, but after finishing Melvin's painting...he inspired me to get out of my comfort zone...so you might see some yellow collections pop up on my main page. Rest in peace Melvin!

Had so much fun painting with the kiddos at D's Lego theme paint party! (And catching up with old friends!) Thanks for having me over Sara! They all turned out so fun!
