13 years of no drugs and alcohol
That's 4,748 days in a row
I will never be able to wrap my head around the obsession leaving me, but it did
One day at a time
We are never alone

13 years ago, I left my former hometown, my house, my husband, and my career to go to rehab and get sober. I was in rehab for 4 months and then sober living for 4 months. I never went back to any of it.
I moved to West Chester with some sober people and started a complete new life. Grateful doesn't even begin to express how I feel.

I have so much to live for and my life is very full now, but I know I could lose it all in a moment if I'm not careful.

Thank you all for being here for me in whatever way that is

So I haven't been able to paint with my back situation, which is much better now, I'm happy to report

But I was able to get in the studio one day last week and I knew I had to make something bold!

This is a very special commission

I met this couple a few years ago at one if my shows and we quickly vibed. Over the last 3 year, I've seen them at many more shows and they'd always buy a little something to support. The wife donates a lot of her time at the Brandywine SPCA and works very hard at getting dogs adopted. You know how I feel about animals!

So when her husband reached out to me to make a piece for her birthday, I was elated! I would have done it for free if I could have.

Her husband filmed her opening this piece and her reaction made me cry. It was a great reminder of why I do what I do. Sometimes I forget how much art really touches people. Thank you Kate and Rich🧡💚

So I hurt my back and it's been a humbling week and a half. I can't sit too long, can't stand too long, and can't paint. It starts getting better and flairs up again for a day or two. I think I have officially seen every crime documentary on Netflix!

It's ok though, this is just a bump in the road. This too shall pass.

I felt this piece was fitting for my little pain in the ass issue right now. Do you see the heart in the 2nd picture?! So cool

Oh, and this is my first textured piece. Unfortunately you can't tell in the photos
