♦◻🔹 Red, White & Blues Bash on the 4th of July♦◻🔹and this week we're singin' the -|- ST. LOUIS BLUES -|- in honor of the epic recording on June 23, 1941 by the smooth, sultry songtress, Lena Horne. This blues standard was written by WC Handy in 1914 and has been recorded by other legends like Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong, Bing Crosby, and Nat King Cole, making it one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century! It even inspired the name of the St. Louis hockey team - the Blues!
