“Exiled” by Megan Whitfield.

A favorite here at JAWBONE. Megan has an incredible ability to capture loneliness and sorrow in this work. A wasteland stretching deep into the void. Yet she still gives us the skeletal masts of ships, foreshortened into oblivion, creating a powerful tension within the composition. An incredibly moving piece that challenges the landscape and draws us into emotions we often choose not to confront.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY from JAWBONE Gallery!

On special occasions, we love to honor art history, especially the rich American artistic legacy that unfolded not far from our home in Cape May, New Jersey. Just across the Delaware Bay in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, the remarkable N.C. Wyeth created a body of work that continues to inspire and captivate us to this day.

Here, we share a Country Gentleman cover from 1944 that beautifully captures the spirit of Father’s Day. From all of us at JAWBONE Gallery, to all the wonderful dads out there, we wish you a very happy Father’s Day.

“Iced Lake Solstice” Megan Whitfield .whitfield.artist This piece. You can walk right out onto the ice. The slab of sky, the marks across the frozen lake, the moon risen overhead. You can almost see your breath. To transport you with paint the way Megan does is a feat that must be experienced in person.
