The 1st Annual Nauvoo Flute Day is a one day flute festival event created to provide opportunity and fun flute education or students in or around the Nauvoo IL area! I wanted to create this event because growing up in a rural area, there is not a lot of opportunity for fun music events without driving sometimes hours away. So I thought, "hey why don't I just make my own flute event!" :)

Nauvoo Flute Day will be held Saturday, January 6th, 2018 8am-4pm in Nauvoo, IL. Students will attend workshops, hear a recital by professional flutists, and perform in the Nauvoo Flute Day Competition Concert. I'm excited to share that our faculty this year will include WIU flute professor John McMurtery, Black Hawk College flute professor Lynne Stukart, and myself, Karen Sanders professional flutist and Alexander Technique Instructor. I hope you and your students can make it as we are going to be doing so many exciting things. If you don't play flute, no worries! Join us for our free concerts! Stay tuned for a schedule!
