CREATIVE BREWS — SEPTEMBER 20

This is my ghost.

Actually, I hope it doesn’t.

I’m bringing the 18" standing wood ghosts to Creative Brews September 20, along with paint, papers and other things you can use to make yours completely different from mine.

Use my sample for ideas and then go your own direction.

That’s the part I’m looking forward to — seeing what everybody comes up with.

I need your help figuring out what you’d like to create this fall!

I have so many projects I’d love to bring to you, but I’m trying to figure out what people actually want to make and when they can get together. I’d really love to fill more dates with private parties and group events, while still offering some public classes.

Here are some of the things I’m working on:

• Fall canvas paintings and boards — birch trees, pumpkins, sunflowers, and more rustic fall designs
• 3D wood projects — the cute ghost, stacked pumpkins, and other fall door hangers
• Crushed-glass resin suncatchers
• Porch leaners
• Smaller projects

I’m also open to other ideas! If there’s something you’ve seen and thought, “I’d love to make that,” tell me.

If you could get a group together for a creative night, what would you want to make? A girls’ night, birthday, family get-together, church group, coworkers, or just a few friends who need a night out — I’d love to bring the creativity to you.

And for those who prefer public classes, what days and locations work best? Weeknights, Saturday mornings or afternoons, or Sundays? West Bend, Hartford, Jackson, Port Washington, or somewhere else nearby?

I love doing these classes, but lately I’ve been spending so much time trying to fill them that I’m not getting to enjoy the creative part. I’m honestly at the point where I need to figure out what people want before I keep adding more.

So please help me out. Comment with a project you’d love to make, whether you’d prefer a private party or public class, and what days and locations work for you. Even if you’ve never been to one of my classes, I’d love to hear from you.

COFFEEVILLE — SEPTEMBER 19

This one is for the people who would much rather paint at 10 in the morning than 6:30 at night.

Birch Trees are coming to Coffeeville in Jackson Saturday, September 19.

Come a little early, grab something from Coffeeville, get yourself settled and then we’ll paint.

You can choose a Wisconsin board, 16 x 20 canvas or 12 x 16 canvas.

There are 15 seats available, so this one will stay a smaller class.

Here’s one of the things I’ve been trying to do more of with my classes:

Give you choices.

For the Birch Trees at Tello’s, you don’t have to paint the same surface as everyone else.

You can choose a canvas, Wisconsin board or round board.

Same class. Same Birch Trees. Three completely different looks depending on what you choose.

I’m curious which surface people are going to pick the most.

What would you choose?

If you’ve been looking at the suncatchers, but you haven’t decided whether this class is for you, there’s something I want you to know.

You do not have to make the same thing as everyone else. I'm adding a few that maybe you haven't seen yet!

You pick the one you want to make, and I’ll help you through the process.

This is not about being “crafty enough.” It’s about coming out, trying something different and going home with something you made.

I’m ready for fall projects.

Not necessarily cold weather. Just the projects.

This 18" stacked pumpkin is coming to Creative Brews September 16, and I like this one because it’s something you can put out now and leave out straight through fall.

So here’s my question:

When do your fall decorations come out?

September 1?
After Labor Day?
Not until the weather actually feels like fall?

We’ll make the pumpkin Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Creative Brews in West Bend.

I know everyone is still in summer mode, but I do need an estimate of how many people want to do a ghost class! I have to place an order and I need at a two-week leeway at a minimum. If I don’t get orders, I may have to postpone the class. I have a class scheduled on 9/20 Creative Brews, and I can also add a class during the week if that works for you! Give me a thumbs up or a thumbs down! I will be sharing another cute ghost that I am working on so you can see him up close and personal! He’s 18” tall and will stand on your fireplace mantle or table! I will have paints, paper, and various materials to make him your own!
