I did it 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I have officially graduated with my nursing degree. It’s been a long hard road but we made it through . Even more amazing is the fact that though it all we were able to create this amazing epoxy wood business that y’all have supported so well. I know we have been quiet for the last few months and we’ll this is the reason .
•
I honestly can’t say what the future of Monky Scraps is just yet. We down sized a lot to be able to essentially shut all production down during this final semester. I still have to prep for my NCLEX followed by transition into my new position as an ICU nurse. Most importantly after 3 years of having to put my life on hold I’ll be spending time with my family . Y’all made Monky Scraps so much more than I could ever have dreamed of and im truly thankful. I’ll keep yall posted on what’s next ,and also on if or when we will be taking orders.

First and foremost we want to take a minute and say thank yall so much for the overwhelming support you have given us over the last couple years. For those of you that do not know I (Ricky) am a full time RN Nursing student. I started this artistic journey during the pandemic and it has been an absolute blessing and an amazing journey. I am about to begin my final semester of nursing school, and I’m currently working full time as an ICU nurse tech. After a lot of consideration and planning I’ve made the very hard decision to not accept any more custom requests until I have finished this final part of my journey to becoming an RN. I truly appreciate yalls understanding during this time as I focus on this. This essentially means that Monky Scraps will become quiet until sometime early next year. I will be monitoring all of our pages and posting from time to time. Also, if time permits I will make some pieces and post them for sale. Diana and I want to thank yall from the bottom of our hearts for the amazing support you have given us.

Maple wood name plate
•
What better way to celebrate your family name and special wedding day then with a name plate wall sign. This beautiful CNC engraved name plate was made with Florida Maple locally sourced here in Dade City. We back painted the engraved lettering for a nice pop and finished the whole piece in several coats of lacquer to seal it and keep it beautiful for years to come.

Rough cedar turned into art
•
We use the term rough cedar a lot when it comes to our pieces. The reason is cause when we pick our slabs we literally look for the most rough pieces that honestly would normally make their way to a burn pile. And this is the reason why. The natural flaws, decay, and overall weathered appearance create a beautiful place for epoxy to fill.

A river flowing through a cedar valley

At only 12” this small cheeseboard has miles of character. To capture this wedge to in such a small piece to careful planning in slab choice. All in all we absolutely love it

Personalized Parota with a Texas touch
•
For this amazing live edge serving tray we used a beautiful piece of Costa Rican parota wood and kept the natural shape on the forward edge. Then we added a backfilled with a deep carved personal engraving. Overall this piece came out absolutely stunning and pictures just don’t do it justice.
