Texas Onion Fest is representing Weslaco at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin as part of its Texas Festivals exhibit! 🧅

Our team recently made the trip to Austin to see the exhibit in person, where we spotted some familiar pieces from home, including our Texas Onion Fest mascot (Tex the Sweet 1015 Onion) and items representing the festival and its history. 🤠

"Texas Festivals" highlights 27 festivals from across the state, It was great to see a piece of Weslaco on display in our state’s history museum and to see the Texas Onion Fest story shared with visitors from across Texas! The Texas Onion Fest celebrates the development of the Texas 1015 Sweet Onion, the state vegetable of Texas, right here in Weslaco.

Save the date for the 2027 Texas Onion Fest happening on Saturday March 27, 2027 from 10:15AM-10:15PM! ⭐

🧅🎉 Happy National Onion Day from Weslaco, the home of the Sweet Texas 1015 Onion, the official State Vegetable of Texas!

Named for its ideal planting date of October 15, the Sweet Texas 1015 Onion was developed right here in Weslaco and grew into one of the sweetest, mildest onions in the country. We're proud to celebrate that legacy every year at the Texas Onion Fest 🤠
