Any budding artists in your family?? The Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center will be holding a class for young artists 8+ in conjuction with the 3rd Annual Plein Air Arts Festival. Check the details in the flyer 👇🏼

🎨 Attention young artists! Get ready to paint outdoors at the festival! 🖌️

✨As part of the Wellsboro Wilds Plein Air Competition & Festival, a" Alla Prima" Student Painting Class is new for young creatives this year! Led by Gmeiner Director Melina Moyer and supported by the Art's Friends of the Gmeiner, this workshop introduces elementary through teen-aged students to the magic of outdoor painting in a single sitting!

Best of all, students can hang their fresh masterpieces inside the Gmeiner gallery at 4:00 PM to compete in the Student Category for Sunday awards!

📍 Where: The Green in Wellsboro (Main events based at the Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center)
📅 When: Saturday, September 12 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
💰 Cost: $10 registration fee (Covers all instruction and supplies!)

14 years ago, the music community lost Adam Yauch (MCA) to cancer. He was just 47 years old and had recently been inducted to the Music Hall of Fame. The legendary Beastie Boys came to an end.

To keep their music alive in a live show format, the Brass Monkeys-the Ultimate Beastie Boys Tribute Band was born. The members of this York, PA based group are accomplished musicians in various other musical projects. Adrock is played by Kris Kostoff (Dadrock) who is a jazz guitarist that performs regularly throughout central PA. MCA is played by bassist Domenic Sciortino (MCL) who is a founding member of God Bless Our Mobile Home and also plays in a Weezer tribute band. Drummer Barry Jewels (Mike B) plays Mike D and is a multi-instrumentalist that also plays guitar in the punk band Break City Drowwners. Rounding out the group is turntablist and music producer Shawn Beck, a.k.a. DJ Cache, on turntables and keyboards. This 2 hour show represents all eras of the Beastie Boys including the instrumental music.
