All photographs are taken by me, Matt Rosenberg, Lighthouse Keeper for the Nubble Lighthouse in Cape Neddick Maine. Nubble Light (also known as Cape Neddick Light Station) sees over 500,000 visitors a year and is considered to be the most photographed lighthouse in New England. Its Victorian architecture, lush green lawn, and white picket fence present the perfect image of a time gone by. The isla
nd is separated from the mainland by 100 yards of rough, unpredictable ocean. My position as Lighthouse Keeper provides me access to the island and its buildings. Sohier Park and Nubble Light represent point of constant interaction between the elements, wildlife, history, and humanity. I take my photos because I can't bring the people to Nubble Light, so I feel like I must bring Nubble Light to the people. The place is too special not to be shared.
