CALL FOR ART

As we stand on the dusty threshold of lunar space exploration, we encourage artists to share their stories about the moon: its spiritual and mystical resonance, the historical significance of its light and darkness, the scientific promise and symbol of hope in the zeitgeist of our era.

We're not always conscious of the beauty and the preciousness of the gift of our planet as we go about our ordinary days, but as we create art that celebrates that beauty, we can find a deeper appreciation within ourselves, and share these gifts of joy and wonder with each other. The art featured in this show should remind the viewer that all around them is a world of beauty that is a sign of the love from whom we live and move and have our being.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.
Genesis 1:1, 31 NRSVUE

Any medium is accepted and works can be new or something you’ve made in the past. Submissions will be juried. You may submit up to three pieces for consideration. Artist statements are required for each piece. Participation is FREE and OPEN to ALL.

DEADLINE MARCH 2: APPLY FOR ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM

One of the main goals of League City’s Public Art Initiative is to assist and support artists in our community. And now, thanks to a program launching in 2025, amateur and professional artists can apply to become an official League City “Resident Artist.”

👉 MONDAY MARCH 2 IS THE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THE 2026 PROGRAM

The League City Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program offers artists a free space and inspiring environment in which to produce works of the creative imagination. The program is designed to offer time and space for artists to focus on their work as well as an opportunity to interact with the public. In exchange for the studio space, artists will provide free classes or workshops for residents and will participate in open house, artist talks, and gallery events.

The first art exhibit of 2026 is now open! The Artist’s Voice invites us to listen closely to the ways artists express meaning, faith, struggle, and hope through their work. The exhibit will be on view through March 22.

The opening reception will be the evening of February 6 at 6pm, where you’ll get to meet the artists and hear art in the form of a performance by the violin and piano artists Duo Dramatique. We hope you’ll join us for this opportunity to reflect, connect, and be inspired.”
