Louis area women who like to sing and perform are invited to experience barbershop harmony with a diverse and inclusive chorus of women of all ages. Besides rehearsing a a variety of a cappella songs, participants are invited to help shape the The St. Louis Vocal Project, a new harmonic adventure in St. Directed by Sandi Wright and assisted by choreographer, Beverly Lynde, rehearsals are from 7:30

-9:30 p.m. in at the Gallery in Webster Groves, 39 Old Orchard Drive on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Our look will be contemporary and fresh, and we hope to encourage all women to explore the many facets of a cappella harmon. Louis Vocal Project will affiliate with Harmony Incorporated, an international organization of women barbershop singers with choruses in the United States and Canada. The four barbershop voice parts range from high first soprano to low harmony in the men’s tenor range; the melody is generally carried in the second soprano part with an additional alto harmony voice added to the mix. All women’s vocal ranges are needed, and they must be able to hold their part with other voice parts around them. It is open to all women who like to sing and perform.
