MORNING UPDATE for TAHC Hurricane Harvey Response and Recovery – Sept. 6, 2017
* The Animal Response Operations Coordination Center is now in day 11 of Hurricane Harvey response and recovery.

- PLEASE NOTE: These are only the shelters that have reported to TAHC. There may be other shelters that are open and active in affected areas.
* TAHC is continuing to work with partners to coordinate animal health assessments from the ground and from the air.
* Assessments are determining needs and numbers of animals that require help and/or are displaced.
* TAHC is continuing to work with partners to deliver hay and feed to stranded livestock. In some cases, crews are dropping hay from the air.
* TAHC is assisting with local efforts to round up stray animals.
* Air support continues today. USDA APHIS Wildlife Services teams and other partners are flying over Hardin, Orange, and Wharton Counties, as well as other flood affected areas to locate animals that are stranded and/or in need of help.
* TAHC animal assessment teams deployed – 8 teams of at least two people each
* Assessments completed (issues are being or have been addressed) - Calhoun, Dewitt, Fayette, Goliad, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Jackson, Lavaca, Montgomery, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Tyler, Victoria, Walker
* Assessments continue – Aransas, Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Newton, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Waller, Wharton

* If you own or see livestock that needs assistance call your local authorities.
* If you have an animal (livestock or pet) that needs to be sheltered, call 211.
