🏃‍♀️ REC JAM 5K — 9:00 A.M.
Get ready to run, walk, and celebrate with the Waynesville community! The Rec Jam 5K is chip-timed, and every participant receives a race shirt + wooden finisher medal. 🏅👕

👟 Whether you’re chasing a new PR, getting your first 5K under your belt, or just looking for a fun Saturday morning, Rec Jam is for you!

🎉 SUNDAYS ARE BACK AT THE REC CENTER! 🏊‍♀️💦

After several years without Sunday operations, we’re excited to welcome you back!

Starting THIS SUNDAY, August 30, the Waynesville Recreation Center will be OPEN EVERY SUNDAY from 1:00–5:00 PM!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Bring the family and enjoy your Sunday afternoon at the Rec!

We know families have been looking forward to having the waterpark available on Sundays, and we’re excited to give our community another opportunity each week to swim, play, exercise and enjoy the Recreation Center together.

A quick reminder about the pools:

Normal pool capacity limits and aquatic safety procedures will be in effect. While we plan to have both pools open each Sunday, pool availability may occasionally be adjusted based on staffing and safety requirements.

If staffing requires it, the lap pool may temporarily close while the waterpark remains open. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our patrons and staff.

🏐🔥 SERVE. SET. SPIKE. LET’S PLAY! 🔥🏐

Our Fall Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League is coming to the Waynesville Recreation Center, and we’re looking for teams and players ready to hit the court! Whether you already have a team put together or you’re a free agent looking for a team, there’s a place for you. 🙌

📣 ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING — AUGUST 19

The organizational meeting is where we’ll get everyone connected and ready for the season!

👥 Team Captains:
⏰ 6:30 PM
If you already have a team, captains should attend to receive important information, go over league details, and get your team ready for the upcoming season.

🏐 Free Agents:
⏰ 7:00 PM
Don’t have a team yet? No problem! Come meet other players who are also looking for a team, and we’ll help connect free agents with teams looking for additional players.

📍 Both meetings will meet in front of the Waynesville Recreation Center!

🏆 SEASON KICKS OFF:

☀️🎉 WEEK 8 = COMPLETE… AND WHAT A WAY TO FINISH SUMMER! 🎉☀️

We officially wrapped up the FINAL WEEK of Waynesville Rec Center Basecamp, and we went out with a bunch of FUN! 💥☀️ Our campers packed the week with laughter, excitement, and some of our favorite activities of the summer! 💙

🎳 Fun Factory — nonstop fun and adventure!
🤸 Launch Trampoline Park — bouncing, jumping, and burning off that summer energy!
🛝 Inflatables — BIG fun and BIG smiles!
💦 Dunk Tank — campers and staff got their chance to make a splash! 😂💧
🍦 Josie’s Ice Cream Truck — the perfect sweet treat to help us celebrate! 🍨😋
🎨 Games, crafts, water activities, friendships, and SO MUCH MORE!

It’s hard to believe that eight incredible weeks have come and gone. From rivers and swimming holes to kayaking, tubing, crafts, games, field trips, and countless laughs, this summer has been one to remember! 🌲🛶💦🎨

Our phones and computer systems are currently down at the Waynesville Recreation Center. If you are trying to call us and can’t get through, this is why.

🔧 MAINTENANCE WEEK IS COMING! 🧹🏊‍♂️

We’re taking a little time to take care of our center! 💪

The Waynesville Recreation Center will be CLOSED Saturday, August 15 through Sunday, August 23 for our annual Maintenance Week.

Our Parks & Recreation team will be working hard behind the scenes on important cleaning, maintenance, repairs and improvements throughout the facility — helping keep the Recreation Center safe, clean and ready for our members and community.

📅 CLOSED: August 15–23
🎉 REOPENING: Monday, August 24 during regular operating hours

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we take care of the facility. We’ll see you back at the Rec Center on August 24! 💚💛
