In case you like to plan ahead and / or are wanting to practice a choreography to perform this May or summer, I plan to be teaching this last week of February and every week in March and most weeks in April. (Note: I won't be teaching classes April 1st - April 9th for Spring Break.)

I hope everyone is enjoying the winter wonderland here in WNC and that you're staying warm, safe, and well.

I doubt we will have class tomorrow, due to snowy and icy roads, but I will check back in by Mon. Feb. 2nd at Noon, and make a decision about class based on road conditions at that time. Southwestern Community College has already canceled classes for tomorrow and we got 9in at our house.

I hope you will enjoy the performance in this old video (below) of my Mediterranean Dance teacher, Crystal Lewis, and myself performing our Lotus Flower choreography together as Body&Sol. This was at the Blue Ridge Bellydance Showcase, the first professional production I ever produced, on the stage at the Old Armory in Waynesville back in 2009.

The footage isn't great, but I think the choreography still shines through. I am the shorter one with the big white lotus flower in my hair. Crystal and I put this choreography together.

Body Lyrics Belly Dance Classes with Logan Novgrod are resuming today Sat. 8/9 5:30pm-7pm, as well as Mon. 8/11 6pm-7:30pm at Waynesville Wellness... and all the remaining Saturdays and Mondays in August, so come and join me for an immersion into the art of Mediterranean Dance.

I have recently increased my rates for classes, as I hadn't given myself a raise in 18-19yrs of teaching dance and felt like I deserved it. However, I'd rather people train with me than miss the opportunity to practice this beautiful artform due to finances, so never let cost deter you from joining in.

On Sunday July 27th, I had the pleasure of teaching AquaShimmy Belly Dance class on dry land at the PNW Mermaid Confluence at the Sherwood YMCA just outside of Portland. It was such a joy to share my new class with my seasters of the west coast. Special thanks to everyone who participated. It was a pleasure to dance with you. And many thanks to Una The Mermaid for hosting my workshop (along with all the other wonderful instructors and presenters of the Con).
