The Father’s Song

Deep in the heart of the Father
lived the most beautiful song.
The angels tried to sing it,
but it always came out wrong.

The song was more than melody—
if you heard it, you’d fall to your knees.
It would open your eyes and heart
so you’d see what the Father sees.

So longing to give a voice to the song,
a plan was set in place—
a plan we all now know
as the start of the human race.

He had to wait to hear it,
for each had to know their part.
But when the song came together,
it would reveal the Father’s heart.

So Gwen, please write and play and sing
what He placed within your heart,
for the Father’s song won’t be complete
unless you sing your part.

The Little Boy

I see the little boy
that is hiding in your eyes—
the one that longs for love and truth
hidden in all the lies.

A hand to pat you on the back,
a voice to say, well done,
a path that says, this is the way,
your journey has begun.

The boy who sometimes is afraid,
and sometimes even cries,
who feels his best can’t measure up
enough to win the prize.

I see the boy.
I see the man.
I am the truth
I created the plan.
I placed all My strength inside you
to see you overcome.

I love you with unfailing love.
I call you My very own son.

Your path may seem so hard at times,
but I have seen the end.
I know it may seem tough right now,
but trust Me—
I know you’ll win.

For the love that caused the stars to shine
is shining in your eyes.
You are not just a face in the crowd—
you are My jewel, My prize.

Don’t give up.
Don’t let go.
Lift up your eyes and see
that I gave My life
for that little boy
to be
all I created him to be.

I See God in You

I see God in an earthen vessel.
I see God in eyes of blue.
I see God in times of worship,
and I see God in you.

Some only see Him in the sanctuary,
or try to find Him in the works they do.
But I’ve heard Him speak into my life—
and the voice belonged to you.

Blessed are they who have not seen Him,
and yet they know He’s true…
but I feel blessed among them,
for I’ve seen God in you.

I’ve seen God in an earthen vessel.
I’ve seen God in eyes of blue.
I’ve seen God in times of worship.
And I’ve seen God in you.

When Jesus Prayed

When Jesus prayed for Lazarus,
we saw God’s power on display—
when a man who had been claimed by death
walked right out of his grave.

When Jesus prayed for His disciples,
we saw God’s glory revealed,
as He prayed they would be united
to bring salvation and to heal.

When Jesus prayed upon the cross,
“Father, forgive their sin,”
the grace of God poured down in love
to cleanse the hearts of men.

When we pray for one another,
God’s love is clear to see—
a cord that can’t be broken:
my God, my brother, and me.
