☀️ Have you seen the “Sunset Over Waynesboro” sculpture at Sunset Park?

This incredible sculpture was a collaborative project created by 11 artist-blacksmiths at the Virginia Institute of Blacksmithing right here in Waynesboro!

The project was led by Ukrainian Master Blacksmith Artem Marshak, who designed the sculpture and guided the artists through its creation. Each unique ray of the sun was crafted by an individual artist, with many of the rays inspired by Virginia and Waynesboro. 🌿

As you look at the sculpture, see if you can spot the natural forms woven into the design, including trees, flowers, water, and Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia). You’ll also find nods to some of the things that make Waynesboro special—from fly-fishing and industry to innovation, brewing, and recreation.

It's the perfect pool weekend. The weather is going to be warm, and the pool will be cool! Head over the Ridgeview Park and enjoy a swim this weekend. The pool will be closed for the season after Sunday, August 30th.

9/11 Memorial – 25th Anniversary Commemoration

Please join the City of Waynesboro for a special 9/11 Memorial Ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

The ceremony will include guest speakers and a presentation reviewing the timeline of events from that tragic day as we come together to remember and honor those who lost their lives, those who served, and the heroes who responded.
