We're going to have some Music in our beautiful Bressler Park! The 4 Sundays after Labor Day on the southeast stage. 6:00-8:00. It’s free. It’s in our town. Bring the kiddos, bring a picnic, or grab supper from the food truck. Fill your soul with some music, fresh air, and community. Rain location is the City Auditorium.
Our mission is to bring live music to our community in a setting that allows young children to enjoy without being “shushed”. A come and go setting. Something that’s not too formal and not in a bar. And a variety of music - hopefully something you’ve never heard before. Big bands, small bands, jazz, blues, bluegrass, rock, country....so many. The sky’s the limit.
Bressler Park has this great little stage in the corner that looks like it was set up for band performances but we couldn’t remember ever seeing a band there. Our son had a band that played private events and in our basement but we wanted a place to have friends and family come hear them. So we just showed up at the park one day and had ourselves a little concert. Everyone said, “you should do this all the time.” Great idea!....and Bressler-Fest was born the next year. Now you know why we always feature my son’s band which is an ever changing combo of him and his new wife (when she’s not too busy with school), his brother from Denver, and their friends - because it gives us the opportunity to hear them play together (we’re selfish that way), and they were the inspiration.
So bring a chair, some food, your partner, your kiddos....or just come alone - I’m sure you’ll know someone there. It’s also a great place for your group or organization’s outing. Picnic shelters are available for a potluck (just a suggestion ;)
