Our is Jacques Nestlé! Born in Berlin in 1907, Nestlé settled in Paris during the ongoing Modern Art revolution. Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, a renowned art dealer who promoted famous artists such as Picasso, offered to work with him, but Nestlé rejected this proposal. As he reached his early 50’s, he began to work in a more spontaneous style that resembled American abstraction expressionism. Nestlé did not refer to himself as an artist or a painter, but rather a simple man who paints.
