Using kid-friendly equipment, smaller courts, and fun games, children will learn the basics of serving, rallying, footwork, and more—all while building confidence and making new friends.

Our Juneteenth event this evening is still on! The rain will move out early today and we’ll have a beautiful evening at the Downtown Park!

Bring a lawn chair or a blanket for the amphitheater area to enjoy the live music as the grass will be wet. No chair? No problem! We also have bench swings, picnic tables, and other seating around the park so you can still come and find a comfortable seat!

We can’t wait to see you all from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight!

FYI, please be mindful of the temporary park closure. Today’s pressure washing is to prep for the crack seal repair that will start tomorrow.

Barnes Park can be accessed via South Main Street.

Heads up, sk8ers! Waxhaw Skate Park (WXW SK8) is temporarily closing for a major crack repair project starting TODAY, June 18 to June 26.

Here's what you need to know:

CLOSED during construction:
• Waxhaw Skate Park
• Skate park parking lot (Caldwell St side)
• Sidewalks into the skate park site
STILL OPEN:
• DG Barnes Park & restrooms (8 a.m.–8 p.m.)
• Pump track at Downtown Park (8 a.m.–8 p.m.)
• Parking via W.S. Main St / Hwy 75 entrance
• Sidewalk on S. Church St

Workers from contractor Durafy will be repairing over 1,500 linear feet of cracks across the park surface — filling every crack with a high-strength polyurea seal to make the park safer and more rideable.

NEW Summer Camp Opportunity in Waxhaw!!

Think, Build and Create this Summer at CAMMP!

This full-day camp blends half a day of math with half a day of robotics and coding, giving kids a fun, hands-on way to strengthen problem-solving and real-world thinking skills. With a focus on creativity, learning through play, and interactive activities, campers stay engaged all day long.

Campers are divided into 2 groups based on their age.

CAMMP has been offering trusted summer camps and programs in the Charlotte area for decades and is led by experienced instructors. This camp will take place at our new Waxhaw Learning Center in August. Register today, as space is limited! Bringing the beach indoors this Saturday at Rec Barn Fun Day Open Play!

Grab your friends and your imagination for a fun-filled time of beach-themed activities, games and more - no sunscreen required! We'll be at Building B of the Waxhaw Recreation Barn (5412 Waxhaw-Marvin Rd) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20th.

This is FREE and open to all ages, but geared toward 11 and under. Come play, relax and enjoy a little summer fun indoors!

Only ONE more spot for next week's mini camp, June 23-25 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Recreation Barn!

Spaces are still available for the August 11-13 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. where little players will learn the basics, build new skills, and make friends along the way. With games, scrimmages, and fun activities, our energetic counselors can’t wait to share the love of the game! 🥅✨
