Local Artist to Showcase Block Printing Techniques for paper, fabric
Artist Tammy Wascovich will demonstrate the art of block printing at the April 6th meeting at First Baptist Church of Waxahachie (450 US 287
Bypass). The event is open to the public.
Wascovich will guide attendees through the technique where a design is carved into a material such as wood, then inked and transferred to a surface such as fabric or paper. Her demonstration will include cutting techniques, selecting appropriate inks or paints and applying them for a clean, professional finish.
The meeting at FBC begins at 6 p.m. with refreshments and social time, followed by announcements and business at 6:30 p.m. The
demonstration will start at 6:45 p.m.

Professional artist to present live painting, Demo March 2
Award-winning oil painter Lynn LaRose will present a live painting
demonstration open to the public in Waxahachie at the monthly meeting of The Ellis County Art Association. She has earned top awards in Paint Historic Waxahachie and was commissioned to create a 2023 Christmas ornament for the Texas House of Representatives.

The meeting is March 2 at First Baptist Church of Waxahachie (450 US287 BYP).
LaRose is a professional artist based in Maypearl, known for oil paintings that depict American Indian, cowboy and Southern landscape themes. She frequently paints on location throughout Ellis County and will be showcasing her plein air approach and historically inspired subject matter.

The meeting at FBC is open to everyone and begins at 6 p.m. with
refreshments and socializing. Announcements and business will start at 6:30 and the Demo will begin at 6:45 p.m. It is free to attend and the public is invited.

Have you ever had problems with Perspective?!?! Come to our latest demo on Monday, Aug 4th at 6:30pm at the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie!
Our demo artist is Austin Rucker who has extensive knowledge in perspective. Austin went to Savannah College of Art and Design where he studied Industrial Design and pursued classes in Sequential Arts. After graduating top of his class, Austin went on to work in the toy industry for nearly two decades designing hand-held electronics, action figures, board games and consumer
electronics for Mattel, Hasbro and Amazon. Today, Rucker works as a content design manager for an investment firm drawing and animating business education videos and advertisements. He loves experimenting with different media, most notably gouache and airbrushing as of late.

July 7th - 1st Monday Art Meet

All are invited to our free art demo July 7, 6:30PM at First Baptist Church of Waxahachie (450
US287 BYP). The public is encouraged to attend.

Vickie Ratliff, an award-winning contemporary realist painter from
Midlothian, will give a demonstration at the monthly meeting of The Ellis County Art Association.
Ratliff began her career in art when she wanted a stained glass window in her new home and decided to make it herself. As a way to start thinking out of the box, she took up oil painting. She was drawn to painting portraits and animals because of the variety of techniques that are necessary to create the exact likeness of the subject while injecting personality through a myriad of expressions and backgrounds.
The meeting at FBC is open to everyone and begins at 6 p.m. with

Our demo artist this month was Gene Dillard, he is a well known portrait artist with a gallery in Downtown Plano Arts District called the Rail Station Studios. It was so fascinating to watch his live demonstration and we all learned from it. Join us the 1st Monday of every month at 6pm at the First Baptist Church.
