Swipe to see each phase of the painting. Paintings always start as a thumbnail, then underpainting, and finally color layers added. This originated from a Plein air painting completed back in 2023. It was always planned that I’d return to this scene, bringing it in the studio to create a larger version. The color notes from that previous Plein air session played a critical role in capturing the accurate calmness of that day. It’s my hope this scene brings you the calm in brought me.
