Happy New Year from Waverly Lights!!!
After 16 years of holiday magic, Waverly Lights is officially closing its final chapter and will no longer be in operation—at least in its current form! We are proud to announce that an agreement has been made with the City of West Union, Iowa, to pass the baton of holiday cheer to city organizers, ensuring our lighting legacy continues for families to enjoy for years to come.
This decision has not been made lightly, as we know our display has become a cherished holiday tradition for countless families and means as much to you as it does to us. However, after more than 30 years of holiday decorating, we are excited to embrace the simpler things in life.
To the tens of thousands of visitors who have enjoyed our display over the years: thank you for your unwavering support and patronage. Seeing the joy in your families’ eyes as you viewed our lights has brought us just as much happiness as the display had brought to you and your families. We are honored to have been a part of your holiday traditions, and we will deeply miss the cars full of visitors—or “customers”—that made it all so special.
With your generous support, we have been able to raise thousands of dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Being able to contribute even a small measure of relief to families in need has meant the world to us and made our efforts just that more worthwhile.
Our final show will be tonight, from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM to send off 2024 with a bang! We hope you’ll join us one last time to celebrate this treasured tradition as the lights dim one last time.
