Here's Moxie! A little stub-legged kitten who will need a home or foster-to-adopt home soon! Why am I housing kittens for a vet? Because they need their hospital spaces for other cats plus other sick kittens come through and they don't want Moxie to get sick. The food that has been donated will feed this tubby little peg leg kitten. Interested in adopting? Let me know and I'll pass your info on! Moxie is vaccinated and tested negative for FIV/FeLV but will be neutered before adoption. He's still a bit too young. Click the image below to see Moxie in action.

The two little blue gray neonates are slurping up their KMR and are settled into a new soft crate (not non-permiable but it IS brand new.). We will foster them for the woman who found them until they are old enough to spay/neuter, and I've asked her to let me know if she finds someone who would like to adopt one. Technically they are still hers. They have a hot pad on one side and can get off it if they choose on the other side. Thank you to everyone helping with kitten supplies! Stray Haven is also trying to get up to speed with NYS regs and also needs non-permeable cat trees. They have a Kuranda tower link up on their site. If you are a Stray Haven supporter, please check our their appeal!

Thank you for the KMR (2 big cans) and kitten food (1 bag)! We'll be picking up the bottle babies later today. We're holding on the cable company arriving today to reconnect our fiber internet that we discontinued almost 2 years back to save costs (I've been using a hotspot instead). However, the hotspot doesn't allow the printer and laptap to talk to one another, and we need to regularly print stuff to manage state recordkeeping and required volunteer education, so we'll be back talking to Alexa later today! 🤣

We have six kittens here at the moment - four from a veterinary clinic (two special needs, one "spicy", and one that needed to recover from a URI) and two from a local business. The cat rooms are almost set up with all their impermiable surfaces (I just have two carpeted cat trees I've been waiting for the cats to destroy so I could justify throwing them out), steel litter pans are swapped in, record-keeping boards are on the wall, ammonia is being monitored with our new digital gauge, new cat furniture is assembled. We'll soon be inspection ready, and I'll give you all a video walk through next week!

Currently we are only fostering kittens and cats for other organizations or private individuals who retain ownership (which means we all their med treatment must be done by a vet, even just worming and FVRCP vaccines -- we can't provide even OTC medical care for animals that aren't legally ours, except for the vet-owned cats, who supplied meds). It's a bit of a hurdle, but at least it means we can still help.

We're also still transporting and covering costs for a limited number of TNR cats, and we also boarded a TNR cat who had been hit by a car and needed some cage rest.

Look what's coming! Gretchen, past volunteer, current adopter, long-time supporter and friend, found these little doobies on her back porch today. (UPDATE: LOL, wrong Gretchen! THIS Gretchen is someone we helped get Spencer Village cats fixed for a few years back). We'll be bottle-raising them for her until they are old enough to be fixed. If anyone wants to shoot some KMR and kitten food our way, you can find it on our wish list here! We do have KMR on the shelf to start (we always keep some at hand).

Scam warning: I recently posted a neighbor's lost cat with public settings on my personal page. A person with a "new" FB profile shared/recommended a for-profit drone company. The drone FB page only had one rescue on it from back in May. When I checked their webpage link I got a "cannot be reached" pop-up. When posting lost pets, be sure to check the comments people leave to be sure there are no scammers (or at best inexperienced profiteers) sharing links and poised to take advantage of people who see your post. Sigh. More work!
