The 2025/2026 season was a record setting season in the Wausau Area USBC. With the season completed, it is time to recognize our association champions, along with some of the special accomplishments by our bowlers this season.

The Women's city team championships were held at Marathon City Sports Center. Jamie Schlei Agency were crowned the champions. Team members were Chelsea Kittel, Sue Walter, Julie Braatz and Jamie Schlei. Sue lead the team with a 793 series.

The City Open team championships were held at Weston Lanes. Steve's Team won the championship. Team members were Steve Beattie, Andrew Virch, Nicholas Meyer and David Powers. Andrew lead the team with an 812 series. Brenton Peters won the Ellsworth "Skud" Cotey award for high series with 829

The 26th Women's City Match Game Championship presented by Wausau Tax & Accounting was won by Sue Walter, who beat two time defending champion Lynn Louze at Marathon City Sports Center. This was Sue's fourth title, joining Diana Witter and Char (Ruether) Rockteschel as the only four time winners of this tournament.

The 34th Mens City Match Game Championship presented by Fandrey Construction was won by Tim Walter, defeating defending champion Todd Fenske at Wittenberg Lanes. Tim joins Todd as the only four time winners of this tournament. This was also Todd's seventh championship match appearance in this tournament, which is a new record.

The Wausau USBC Hall of Fame tournament was held at Day's Bowl-a-Dome, with Tom Kurth Jr. taking home the championship.

High averages in the association were Dan Cherek for the men and Jordyn Krueger for the women. Dan averaged 238.67 to lead the men for the second time. Jordyn averaged 219.04 to lead the women for the second time. 51 games were required to qualify.

There were 72 300 games, 4 by women, and 33 800 series, with 1 by a woman. Bowlers with multiple 300 games were Dale Hackbart (4) Dan Cherek (3) and Braeden Vendetti, Andrew Virch, Tim Walter, Ian Mcdonell, Jon Shultz, Aaron Clark, Jacob Marcell, Brian Knab and Ayedin Hanson all with two.

High series for the second year in a row went to Braeden Vendetti with an 868 shot at Day's Bowl-a-Dome. Rounding out the top five were Jacob Marcell with 846, Dale Hackbart with 837 & 836 and Will Kubeny with 834.

On the women's side, Jordyn Krueger lead the way with an 806. Jordyn becomes the fifth woman to throw an 800 series in association history. Her 806 is also the second highest series on the list. The other top series were Sue Walter with 793, Lynn Louze 768, Sue Walter 752, Lynn Louze 743 and Sarah Elliott 740.

The four bowlers who threw those games were Diana Witter, Lynn Louze, McKenna Hintz and Jordyn Krueger. There are now 38 300 games thrown by women in association history.

Two team records were set this past season. Bam's Pest Control set a new 4 man team game record of 1107 on January 6 at Weston Lanes, beating the previous record of 1079. Team members were Carson Malueg (286) Ian McDonell (265) Nick Thiele (279) and Lonnie Bamberg (277).

Among some of the other special events this year were Jon Schulz and Jacob Marcell becoming the 7th and 8th bowlers to record two 300 games in the same series and Dale Hackbart becoming the first bowler to record 50 300 games in just the Wausau Association.
