Hannah O'Hare Bennett is a multidisciplinary artist whose work draws on fiber, handmade paper, and textile traditions to explore cultural integration, imperfect translation, and connection across difference. Bennett lives and works in Madison, Wisconsin. Her multimedia tapestries, combining bead weaving, yarn, handmade paper, and found materials, have been exhibited at the Museum of Wisconsin Art, Dubuque Museum of Art, Penland School of Craft, Cedarburg Art Museum, and the Dunedin Art Center, among others. Her work is held in public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Library of New Zealand, and the Rhode Island School of Design. She is the recipient of a UW-Madison Division of the Arts Edna Wiechers Arts in Wisconsin Award and a 2025 Dane Arts Project Grant. Her residencies include Penland School of Craft Winter Residency, Women's Studio Workshop, Tides Institute, and Playa Summer Lake. Bennett has taught workshops at Arrowmont School of Craft, Ox-Bow School of Art, Pyramid Atlantic, and the Morgan Conservatory, and has held teaching positions at Mount Mary University, University of Montana Western, and UW-Madison, where she completed her MFA in Design Studies in 2017.
