Midwest Performing Arts Enhancing lives through dance education. It is important as a dancer to have a well rounded education in many different forms of dance.

Midwest Performing Arts offers a progressive program in dance technique grounded in Ballet, Modern and Jazz Dance training, while also including Tap and Hip Hop genres of dance. Our schedule and curriculum allow each and every student to learn in many genres. Midwest Performing Arts dance training program moves the student from the Pre-Dance levels, through the Student Division, and into the Pre-Professional Program. These three categories allow the school to give each individual dancer the focus on training they are seeking, from introduction to dance, to the recreational dancer, and to the professionally focused student.

“Experience the magic of the holiday season” with Midwest Performing Arts’ 15th annual production of The Nutcracker! The production will be presented on Saturday, December 5th with two shows, 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM and Sunday, December 6th with one show at 3:00 PM performed at the Waunakee High School Performing Arts Center.

MPA will be providing a program guide during the show, and we would like to offer you an ad space. This advertisement is an inexpensive way to give a “shout out” to your dancer or to help your business with exposure but also help produce MPA’s wonderful show and sponsor the arts in the Waunakee and surrounding communities. This is a great way to get value from your advertising dollars.

Ads will be for sale starting with a 1/4 page for $50 and gradually increase from there. MPA has cover pages available in color starting at $100. Examples and more information can be found on our website at mpadance.com/nutcracker.

We hope you will help us in making this year’s production of The Nutcracker a success. This is a great way to get involved. If you need help creating your ad, all imagery and text must be handed in by November 2nd. If you already have a designed ad with no editing needed, these must be handed in by November 9th. All program ad submissions and any questions can be submitted to Jessica at [email protected].

CLASSES ARE CANCELED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT TODAY TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13th DUE TO THE POWER OUTAGE. A makeup schedule will be announced by the end of the week.

We’re so excited to welcome Stephanie Little this week as our second Guest Artist this season!

Midwest Performing Arts provides the students of our school and the surrounding community with the opportunity to learn from renowned dance professionals through our Guest Artist Class Series. All of our guest artist classes are open to the public. You do not need to be a MPA student to attend classes. Adults are also welcome to participate. Sign up online, call us at (608) 849-4922, or drop in the day of class. Payment must be received before the class begins.

ABOUT STEPHANIE LITTLE:
Stephanie Little hails from Boston, MA. She began her training at Boston Youth Moves and attended the Boston Arts Academy, where she focused on developing her technical foundation and stylistic versatility. She received a talent scholarship to Point Park University, where she graduated magna cm laude. After graduation, she moved to Chicago to dance and choreograph for Thodos Dance Chicago. After two years of touring and performing with TDC, she joined Giordano Dance Chicago's second company for a pivotal year of growth as an artist. She was invited to audition for Cirque du Soleil and moved to Las Vegas shortly after she got the job. She performed in two Cirque productions, BeLIEve and VIVA Elvis, where she was the Lead Swing. Her freelance career includes dancing on hit FOX TV show Empire, an assistant choreographer credit at Joffrey Ballet and teaching at intensives all over the US and in Costa Rica. After her performance career, Stephanie directed a successful competitive youth dance company in Illinois, earning national awards for technique and choreography. She is certified in Pilates Mat technique and proper pointe shoe fitting. She has taught extensively in the midwest as well as in Boston, Las Vegas, San Antonio and Costa Rica. Teaching today’s youth not only the value of technique but also resilience and joy in movement brings her so much joy. She currently lives in Wisconsin with her husband and two children and loves dance as much as she did on her first day of class!

We are now preparing for this year’s Spring Concert of Dance to be held at the River Arts Center on Friday, May 28 and Saturday, May 29, 2027. Each MPA student has the opportunity to be a part of this concert and showcase what they have been working on with their classes. Participation is optional, not required.

To ensure your costume order and place in the Spring Concert, all forms and payment are due no later than Monday, November 2nd. If you decide to not participate, a form declining your dancer’s participation is still due.

All forms and orders handed in late (after 11/2/26) are subject to a late fee of $10 per costume order and shipping.
