❤️ Remembering Our Fair Friend, Katherine “Kathy” Wilson ❤️
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Kathy Wilson (nee Williams), a cherished member of our Waukesha County Fair family.

Kathy dedicated many years to 4-H and the Waukesha County Fair — as a Phantom Clovers leader, Fair Superintendent in Foods and Cake Decorating, and certified Fair judge. Through her time, knowledge, and kindness, she helped encourage generations of youth and exhibitors.

The Fair was a special part of Kathy’s life and family, and her dedication will forever be part of our Fair’s story.

We extend our deepest condolences to Kathy’s family, friends, and 4-H community. Her impact was meaningful, her legacy lasting, and she will be deeply missed. ❤️

🕊️ Rest peacefully, Kathy. Thank you for being part of our Fair family.

“Fair” food for thought! 🎡🌽

The Waukesha County Fair is so much more than five days in July. We’re truly a year-round effort that creates an impact both inside and beyond the Expo grounds! 🙌🎡

🎪 Did you know?! The Waukesha County Fair, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, generates an estimated $34.9 MILLION in annual economic impact for our local economy!

From grabbing fuel on the way to the Fair and staying at a nearby hotel, to purchasing that funnel cake with ALL the toppings, supporting local businesses and investing in local youth through the Junior Livestock Auction, the impact of Fair reaches far and wide!

And we’re part of an even bigger story! Across Wisconsin, 74 Fairs generate an estimated $1 BILLION in economic impact and welcome approximately 3.4 million fairgoers each year (that’s equivalent to about 57% of Wisconsin’s population)!

Here at home, we’re proud to welcome an average of 118,000+ guests to experience agriculture, entertainment, food, exhibits and traditions that bring our community together!

185 years and counting, we’re proud to be part of a tradition that celebrates agriculture, supports our community and continues making an impact year after year! 🤗

Taking dog days of summer literally… Happy Dog Day! 🐶

We’re sharing some extra love to our furry friends with a little extra bark.✨ A special shout out to a few of our tail-wagging pals we got to meet at our Dog Show this past June! 🏆

🐕 Whether they’re helping on the farm, or keeping the comfiest spot on the couch warm, there’s a reason dogs are a person’s #1 best friend!

🐾 We’d love to see your dogs as we celebrate! Pop a photo in the comments 📸

With harvest season just around the corner, don’t forget to lay fresh mulch down to prepare for the garden/lawn off-season!

While spring mulching is a highly popular option, late Summer/Fall mulching is a great way to insulate the soil and save time when you plant in the spring.

Be sure to visit our friends and Fair partners at Waukesha Landscape Supply for all your mulch & stone needs before the season wraps up! We’re so grateful for their support of all things Fair fun—from the barns to the Action Center.

At the heart of agriculture is a key piece of technology: the tractor! 🚜

From humble beginnings to today’s high-tech equipment, tractors revolutionized farming—allowing farmers to work more land with greater speed and efficiency. Over the years, tractors have continued to evolve alongside agriculture itself.

Today’s tractors can feature enclosed, climate-controlled cabs, GPS guidance and precision technology that helps farmers plant, manage fields and operate more efficiently. Compare that to tractors from decades past, and you can see just how far agricultural technology has come!

That’s what makes antique tractors such an important piece of our agricultural and rural heritage. They offer a hands-on look at the equipment generations of farmers relied on—and help tell the story of how farming has evolved over time.

You can explore that history during all five days of the Waukesha County Fair inside our Antique Tractor Tent! Check out the tractors on display, take a closer look and ask questions about the equipment and agricultural history behind them.

A special thank you to Proven Power, Stigler Farms, Chiropractic Partners, S.C., and Dairyland Mobile Repair, LLC for proudly supporting the Antique Tractor Tent and helping us share this piece of agricultural history with our Fairgoers! ❤️🚜
Be sure to add the Antique Tractor Tent to your Fair must-see list!

We’ve goat to share a little extra love today—Happy World Goat Day! 🐐👏

📍 Wisconsin has plenty to br-aa-g about when it comes to goats! Our state leads the nation in dairy goats, with more than 78,000 calling Wisconsin home.

🌾 From small to large and meat to dairy, goats play an important role in Wisconsin agriculture. Beyond producing milk and meat, goats can make wonderful companions and even lend a hoof around the farm as natural “weeders,” grazing on grasses, dandelions, brush and more!

🎪 Goats are also one of the many livestock species our exhibitors raise and showcase at the Waukesha County Fair. 🐐 From dairy goats to meat goats, exhibitors spend countless hours learning proper care and nutrition, breeding, body condition, showmanship and so much more—all while building the skills and knowledge that come with raising livestock.

Potatoes are definitely their own food group at Fair (we don’t make the rules 😉)!

🍟 Whether they’re baked, fried, mashed, chipped, spiraled, or more, these tasty spuds are hard to pass up! 😋

🥔 Food for thought: Wisconsin is ranked 3rd in potato production! Packed with nutrients, potatoes contain dietary fiber, vitamin B6 (a vital nervous system nutrient), potassium, phosphorus and so much more! Now that’s something to savor in every bite!

How are you celebrating this National Potato Day?
