Full-on Bear Hugs prep over here. 🧸🎄
Bear Hugs has officially taken over our dining room tables. Ellen’s is full of bears and quilts, and mine is full of labels in the making, fabric samples, cards and all the little pieces coming together.

Something cozy has been taking shape behind the scenes. 🧸🎄❤️
I’m so happy to begin sharing Bear Hugs, A Cozy Christmas Collection, a collaboration with my dear friend Ellen Graham.
Bear Hugs brings together Ellen’s handmade quilts and collection of vintage bears with my illustrations, fabric designs and love of all things colorful and Christmas.
What started as a fun idea between two creative friends has grown into a whole little Christmas world of vintage bears, one-of-a-kind quilts, illustrated fabrics and holiday treasures.
Bear Hugs officially launches September 1! We’ll be sharing little peeks throughout the week as we get ready. If you’d like to follow along and be the first to know when our Etsy shop opens, join our Christmas list through the link in my bio.
Bear Hugs,
Ellen & Angela 🧸🤗

Quietly moving into our new house and studio, Donut and coffee for breakfast, taking the kids to see Spider-Man, drawing teddy bears for my collab with Ellen, working with Ellen on a Christmas collection in July & August, crafting in the living room, missing Adriaan while he’s traveling for work, seeing a deer in our yard on the last day in my old studio, saying goodbye to a home that holds precious memories and passing it onto its new owners, saying hello to making new ones in this old house. 🏠

I’m in my new studio! 🎨🧵
I haven’t been online much over the past few months because we’ve been busy selling our home and studio and moving into an old house in Waukesha, right across the street from good friends and our oldest daughter.
Now, I’m settling into my new studio space and focusing on developing my painting and quilting skills. I’m excited to see how these different creative practices begin to inform one another.
Over the next six weeks, I’ll also be creating a Christmas collection with my incredibly creative friend and talented quilter, Ellen Graham. We play mahjong together and are in the same quilt club and book club, so this collaboration feels like a natural extension of a friendship already filled with creativity, stories, fabric, and shared inspiration.
Ellen has a stunning collection of vintage teddy bears and an incredible assortment of vintage Christmas fabrics that have been inspiring us both. Our goal is to release a joyful Christmas collection in early September featuring fabric, wallpaper, art prints, and home goods, along with some incredibly beautiful vintage teddy bears that Ellen has decided are ready to find loving new homes.
Watch this space as I share vignettes from Ellen’s beautiful home, glimpses of our creative process and new designs, adventures in painting and quilting, and work taking shape in my new studio.
I’ve learned that one form of creative expression feeds the next. Painting leads to textiles, quilting inspires color and pattern, and friendship opens the door to ideas we may never have discovered alone.
As Maya Angelou said, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
And we have so much to create. ❤️

Happy happy garden chair and yard art that I painted today for

This challenge has been just the dose of joy I’ve needed during a big transition. Thank you so much Jill and all the artists posting. I’ve loved seeing everyone’s creativity in my feed.

I haven’t posted much these last two weeks, but we have had lots of showings and our home was staged, and I had to be out of the house a lot. 😍 We have an accepted offer on our house! 🥳 We will be packing up our house these next few weeks to start a new adventure in an old house about fifteen minutes from here. It has a sun porch, lots of charm, and a room to paint in.

Before I start filling boxes, I wanted to express all the feels I have about our new move. 🌼

Nya Loves Poems and Short Stories written by B.S. Hoeppner and pictures by me and Susan Campbell is now available as a beautiful large hardcover on my website, and a paperback on Amazon. It’s so fun to see it in print. I have a link in my stories. 😍🫶

It’s such a wonderful feeling when you look up at the painting you did of your irises while having your morning tea, and then look outside to see the irises that are in the painting all opened up last night. 😍💛 Happy Sunday.

For , I’m off to a giant flea market today to find collage supplies and who knows!!! All the amazing collages I’m seeing are so inspiring! Eeeek.

Here’s a mini studio tour for I’m helping paint walks and clean our house which is getting photographed today and on the market on Tuesday. I’m excited about this happy to do… start a new painting. 😍

A little studio tour before showings. The last two days for I’ve been helping Katie, who has been staging our house to go on the market. We hung artwork in all the rooms, and she asked me to start a new painting in the space when I told her that our home is the happiest when I’m painting in it. 😍 I’m so glad for the FUN to dos.
