I’m in my new studio! 🎨🧵
I haven’t been online much over the past few months because we’ve been busy selling our home and studio and moving into an old house in Waukesha, right across the street from good friends and our oldest daughter.
Now, I’m settling into my new studio space and focusing on developing my painting and quilting skills. I’m excited to see how these different creative practices begin to inform one another.
Over the next six weeks, I’ll also be creating a Christmas collection with my incredibly creative friend and talented quilter, Ellen Graham. We play mahjong together and are in the same quilt club and book club, so this collaboration feels like a natural extension of a friendship already filled with creativity, stories, fabric, and shared inspiration.
Ellen has a stunning collection of vintage teddy bears and an incredible assortment of vintage Christmas fabrics that have been inspiring us both. Our goal is to release a joyful Christmas collection in early September featuring fabric, wallpaper, art prints, and home goods, along with some incredibly beautiful vintage teddy bears that Ellen has decided are ready to find loving new homes.
Watch this space as I share vignettes from Ellen’s beautiful home, glimpses of our creative process and new designs, adventures in painting and quilting, and work taking shape in my new studio.
I’ve learned that one form of creative expression feeds the next. Painting leads to textiles, quilting inspires color and pattern, and friendship opens the door to ideas we may never have discovered alone.
As Maya Angelou said, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”
And we have so much to create. ❤️
