✨ Remembering the Lotus-Born ✨
Padmasambhava in the History of Tibet’s Golden Age
by Daniel A. Hirshberg

Remembering the Lotus-Born sheds light on the work of Nyangrel Nyima Öser (1124–92), one of the most influential yet least known figures in the history of Tibetan Buddhism.

His pivotal work, the Copper Island, is the story of how the Indian ta***ic master Padmasambhava brought Buddhism to the region. This work elevated Padmasambhava to central importance in Tibetan history and made treasure revelation and recognized reincarnations among the institutions that still define Tibetan culture.

It received an Honorable Mention from the E. Gene Smith Book Prize Competition in 2018 by the Association of Asian Studies.

📚 Available from Dharma Treasures, along with a wide selection of Buddhist books and practice texts.

✨ Treasure of Abundance ✨

Treasure Vases are sacred objects empowered to promote abundance, prosperity, healing, and protection from unwanted circumstances in your home, business, within the land, or as an auspicious gift.

The Treasure of Abundance Treasure Vases were hand-designed by Lama Tharchin Rinpoche over many years and are filled and consecrated according to the Dudjom Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism by qualified lineage teachers. Their creation follows an unbroken lineage of instructions connected directly to Guru Rinpoche. 🪷

Each vase is carefully filled with precious substances, sacred medicines, mantra rolls, relics, jewels, minerals, and other blessed materials. They may be placed on a shrine or in a location of respect, offered as a meaningful gift, or traditionally buried within the land to support positive circumstances and help pacify obstacles.

Wherever they are placed, Treasure Vases offer a beautiful connection to this sacred tradition and its compassionate intention to benefit beings and the environment. 🌈

🔔 Bell & Dorje ✨

The bell and dorje are among the most recognizable ritual implements of Vajrayana Buddhism. Held together in practice, they express the inseparability of wisdom and skillful means, and the nondual essence of bliss and emptiness.

In A Cascading Waterfall of Nectar, Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche describes Vajrasattva, indivisible with one’s extremely kind root Lama, holding a five-pointed vajra to his heart in his right hand and a bell supported before his hip in his left. Vajrasattva abides in union with Nyema Karmo as a peaceful wisdom deity, radiant with unwavering immaculate wisdom in the nondual essence of bliss and emptiness.

The vajra is held at the heart, while the bell is held in the left hand. Together, they accompany the path of practice through which great emptiness wisdom bliss is developed by the developing and completion stages. Dungse Rinpoche’s commentary includes the aspiration:

“Holding the vajra and bell in my hands,
Reading profound upadesha…
May I be born and born in this way until attaining the state of Vajrasattva.”

The merit of the practice is then dedicated to all limitless sentient beings, so that all may attain the supreme state beyond suffering—the glorious enlightened body of Vajrasattva. 🔔✨

Beautiful bells and dorjes are available from Dharma Treasures for Vajrayana practice and the shrine.
