We are tired!💤
As we close the weekend of events we offer each of you a THANK YOU FOR MAKING HISTORY WITH US!
50th Annual Watonga Cheese Festival
& 2nd Annual Indigenous Arts Festival
What an incredible weekend of celebration, community, culture, and tradition!
As we reflect on this historic milestone, our hearts are filled with gratitude for EVERYONE who helped make these festivals such a wonderful success!
To our sponsors, vendors, artists, performers, demonstrators, volunteers, community leaders, city employees, first responders, festival committees, and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, a big THANK YOU!
To our Cheyenne and Arapaho elders, tribal leaders, cultural ambassadors, artists, and Indigenous community members who generously shared their heritage, traditions, stories, and talents; thank you for helping us celebrate and honor the rich history and living cultures that are such an important part of our community.
And to our festivalgoers, families, friends, and visitors who came to Watonga to celebrate with us, YOU are the reason these traditions continue!
Fifty years ago, a group of dedicated individuals had a vision to bring people together in celebration of our community. Today, that vision continues to grow, embracing new generations, honoring our shared history, and creating opportunities for cultural understanding, friendship, and unity.
The addition of the Indigenous Arts Festival has brought another beautiful dimension to this longstanding tradition. Together, we are not simply hosting festivals, we are building bridges, preserving traditions, celebrating our differences, and creating memories that will last for generations.
We are especially grateful for the spirit of generosity, kindness, and cooperation that makes Watonga such a special place to call home.
From the Watonga Cheese Festival Committee and Plains Collective, THANK YOU for being part of something truly special!
Here’s to 50 years of memories, two years of celebrating Indigenous arts and culture, and a future filled with even more reasons to come together!
Until next year, thank you for celebrating with us!
Small Town. Rich History. Strong Traditions. One Community.
