Mosesian Center for the Arts Mosesian Arts presents a diverse variety of the best in performing and visual arts in Greater Boston

The Mosesian Center for the Arts is a performing and visual arts venue on the Charles River in Watertown, Massachusetts. The 30,000 square foot center, located in an historic 1894 manufacturing shop on a former U.S. Army arsenal, houses a 339-seat main stage theater, a flexible black box theater, exhibition galleries, art classrooms, and a rehearsal studio. Mosesian Arts is located six miles from

downtown Boston, borders Brighton and the Charles, and is easily accessible from surrounding suburbs and MetroWest. Programming includes professional theater and musical performances, comedy, gallery exhibitions, literary and art discussions, and performing and visual arts classes and workshops for all ages. Watertown Children’s Theatre, Mosesian Arts’ performing arts education program, provides exceptional classes and performances for youth and families. The venue also hosts celebrated and cutting-edge performing arts companies from throughout the Greater Boston region and New England.

Wondering about that question mark for the June musical? We've updated and expanded our Call for Art for the upcoming Treaty Day Exhibition and 250th Anniversary Celebration.

Indigenous artists with connections to the Mi'kmaq or Maliseet Nations, as well as Indigenous artists with ties to the ancestral homelands surrounding the river now known as the Charles, are invited to submit work in any medium. Artwork may respond directly to the historic treaty signing or explore any subject matter of the artist's choosing.

Exhibition dates: July 10–August 28
Submission deadline: June 8

We invite artists with connections to the Mi’kmaq and Maliseet Nations to submit work in any medium, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, video, sound, artists’ books, and more. Artwork may respond directly to the historic treaty signing or explore any subject matter of the artist’s choosing.

Join us tomorrow tonight for the opening reception of Altered States: Transformation in Art, Thursday, May 28, 5:30–7:30 PM.

Featuring work across painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, illustration, video, sound, and more, Altered States explores transformation through shifts in identity, perspective, spirituality, environment, and material process. Across the galleries, artists reimagine figures, symbols, and natural forms to evoke metamorphosis, evolution, tension, and renewal.
