For 15 years, KBB has been dedicated to developing young artists through strong classical foundations, discipline, artistry, and meticulous personal guidance—from our Children’s Program through advanced Pre-Professional levels.

For fifteen years, Koltun Ballet Boston has been a home for artistry, discipline, and grace-where young dancers discover not only technique, but the confidence and poise that stay with them for a lifetime. 🩰

My mentor forever ♥️

On August 3, 2011, Sergei ascended to dance with the angels forever. It is hard to believe that the earthly world has been without him for 15 years already.

Fifteen years… and yet, somehow, his presence still feels so close. People like Sergei do not simply disappear from our lives—they remain in our memories, in the moments we shared, in the art and beauty they left behind. Time moves on, but some people remain timeless.

Dance on, dear Sergei. You are remembered. ❤️

We are delighted to welcome our pre-professional senior student Magnolia Newman to our faculty 2026/27 school year.

Magnolia began her classical ballet training at Boston Ballet School. Since 2017, she has trained under Alexandra Koltun and Alex Lapshin at Koltun Ballet Boston, where she has continued to develop her technical excellence and artistic versatility. She is currently a senior in Koltun Ballet Boston's Pre-Professional Program and has served as Team Leader since 2024, mentoring younger dancers while supporting faculty and fellow students.

Magnolia has performed at prestigious national and international competitions, including Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), YAGP Paris, and Universal Ballet Competition (UBC). She has earned numerous awards in both classical ballet and contemporary dance as a soloist and ensemble performer, including Second Place in the Senior Competitive Contemporary Duo/Trio division at the multinational UBC Grand Prix Finals. She has also received scholarships to train with Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Ballet Hispánico School in New York, and Nashville Ballet. In 2026, she was chosen to attend the highly selective Hubbard Street Dance Summer Intensive in Chicago where she diversified her studies in contemporary dance and artistic expression.

Beyond dance, Magnolia has tutored elementary school students and serves as a member of Lexington High School's bullying prevention program, where she teaches middle school students about inclusion, empathy, and leadership.

Magnolia is honored to join the faculty at Koltun Ballet Boston as a Pre-Ballet Instructor for the 2026–2027 school year. She looks forward to sharing her passion for dance and helping young dancers build confidence, artistic creativity, and a strong technical foundation.
