It’s been a while as I have been in a season of doing lots of in-person paint events— but this fun project is finally done. I chose it because it allowed me to explore so many colors I don’t typically use. I was also intrigued by the challenge of drawing the straw mat.

Our first Paint Your Pet workshop was so fun we are doing it again! We also have a fun bold bloom paint session coming up! These are laid back, fun, paint sessions where you will learn technique while creating a piece you love. All sessions are kept to 6 to 8 participants to allow personalized guidance. When I started drawing 3 years ago, it was because I wanted to learn how to draw my dog Max. 🖤🤍

I have now drawn him about 20 times — and somehow he still teaches me something new every time.

This is the latest.

And just to be clear — this is 100% hand-drawn colored pencil on paper. No computer. No AI.
Layer by layer. Fur by fur. Worth it.

It was a pleasure to draw this portrait of Ollie ()

Ollie has been friends with my dog, , on Instagram for a couple of years, so creating this piece felt especially meaningful. He’s a merle Bernedoodle, and I built this portrait with gradual layering to bring out the depth of his merle patterning while capturing the softness of his fur and the personality in his expression.

A little something to brighten your day 🌸

I discovered the joy of drawing big flowers with colored pencil last year. This is 24x24. Something about the slow pace and really exploring one color is extremely calming— and really slows down my racing mind.
