The SPPCS Beginning Band and the Intermediate band started live band practices today. It was great to see the students back together again. Our Advanced band will start practicing live on Friday.
I hope all general music students have been enjoying their music lessons and my Thanksgiving songs! Grades 3 to 5 music classes have been working hard bucket drumming at home with interactive videos!

The 5th grade general music class had fun bucket drumming to the Skeleton Song today. Each row of students is assigned a different color and each row hits the buckets on different parts of the bucket. It is a blast!

All of the band members at SPPCS had a wonderful week of outside rehearsals. The weather was perfect! We successfully social distanced while playing some great music! Thank you to all of the band members for doing such a fine job this week. We had to adapt and change how we conducted our practices. The kids conquered the challenge. Go Falcon Band!

Thanks to all of the band kiddos that showed up for band class today. My general music students loved the new music room and our new Smart board! We are going to have a great year! I’m very optimistic for our journey we have ahead of us. I was able to make our rehearsals outside be equipped with a rechargeable PA system, rechargeable amps and a battery operated keyboard. We have a tent outside to help shade and protect our band rehearsals! The advanced band received their new method books and new jazz books. We had a great turnout for our beginning band and our intermediate band will be able to rehearse all three days as an entire band. We had a busy day, but a good start to a wonderful year. I can’t wait until Wednesday. I promise to get some pictures of our great band students. We can do this! Thank you Mrs. Matzenbacher for leading the way! Thank you to all of the parents that support your child’s music education. Thank you to all of our teachers supporting our fine arts programs!
