Duran's Down Home Days

Annual event that benefits a local charity each June. Held at Gazebo Park, High St
Waterford, Pa. We appreciate sponsors who help host the event.

We invite you to participate as: local crafter/vendor, demonstrators, games, make & take workshops, music/entertainment, or a food vendor. Enter to win $2,000 in the Cast Iron Challenge or $500 in our Upcycle competition. There will be raffles, & a Vendor Auction to benefit the charity as well. ADMISSION IS FREE. You may sample the dishes from the Cast Iron Chef Teams which our panel of celebrity

judges will be tasting. Since 2012 YOU the public has allowed us to donate over $20,000 to small nonprofits. In 2024 we have MOVED our location to the parks in the center of Waterford.

Our Story

We invite you to participate as: local crafter/vendor, demonstrators, games, make & take workshops, music/entertainment, or a food vendor. Enter to win $2,000 in the Cast Iron Challenge or $500 in our Upcycle competition. We appreciate sponsors who help host the event, since our budget is usually between $7,000.00 & $8,000.00. There are NO paid staff members. Every penny raised above expenses will get donated to that year’s charity. There will be raffles, & the popular cow pie bingo to benefit the charity as well. ADMISSION IS FREE to the public. You may sample the dishes from the Cast Iron Chef Teams which our panel of celebrity judges will be tasting, enjoy DIY and sustainable living exhibits and 'down home' demonstrations. In 2012, Kanzius Cancer Research received $2,000; 2013 $4,000,$2500 in 2014, and $1800 in 2016 from your giving to our event. In 2017 the Pennsylvania Veteran’s Foundation was your choice of charity, they received $5,300.00. Each fall, you the public, will vote upon which charity will benefit from this annual fundraiser in May. We typically host the weekend prior to Memorial Day and rent the Waterford Fairgrounds for the event.
