A sample of "Solace" by the King of Ragtime, Scott Joplin. The audience for Concert 102 in Holland packed a barn at Mead Hill Farm, unlike the 1973 "Mac's Party" which brought as many as 30,000 rock n' roll fans to the town!

Today is the fourth anniversary of Concert No. 10 in BERLIN, where Hungarian composer Bela Bartok spent his first summer in the U.S. For David's 2022 concert, David and UVM Professor Emerita Sylvia Parker performed Prof. Parker's new arrangements of Bartok's two-piano "Mikrokosmos" pieces for 4-hands.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 8 -- Holland, here we come! Concert 102 will feature Mozart's quirky Gigue K.574 (written the year that Holland, VT was chartered), Chopin's Nocturne op. 55 no. 1 (composed the year that Hollander and health pioneer Lucy Hall was born), and a 4-hand rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner with local Mark Violette. And the Dutch national anthem, for obvious reasons.

As always, admission is free. Any voluntary donations benefit NEK Organizing.

Throwback to the 2022 concert in Strafford, back in the single digits of Play Every Town (concert no. 8). Strafford was home to Senator Justin Morrill, peace activist William Sloane Coffin, and, more recently, Grammy-award nominated singer-songwriter Noah Kahan. None of them were available to perform onstage with David, but we remember their contributions anyway.
