Today marks not only the anniversary of the Cornwall concert, but also the anniversary of the project launch in Burlington in 2022! Over the past four years, Play Every Town has held 98 (soon to be 99) community concerts and raised over 35,000 dollars for various environmental causes. We are so grateful for the community support surrounding this project and have some exciting things in store for the remaining concerts!

Pictured in the first slide is the beautiful UVM recital hall, which hosted the Play Every Town project launch. For this first concert, David played on UVM’s Steinway Concert Model D, which— as per tradition, is adorned with signatures on the inside frame of all the pianists of who have performed on it (second slide).

The final slides, from PET’s 2023 Cornwall concert, show David with Cornwall local, Emily Sunderman, on the well-known Sicilienne by Von Paradis, the view from the window of Cornwall’s first Congregational church where the concert was hosted, and 15 week old Winnie who may have stolen the show.

The clip above, filmed at PET’s Peru concert last Friday, features Amy Chamberlin, Anne D’Olivo, and Wendy Galbraith on Neil Young’s Environmental Elegy, “After the Gold Rush.” The concert was also the kickoff to a series of Earth Week events sponsored by Earth Matters of Manchester, VT. 🌱 Earth Day seems not to cut through the noise as much these days. But global environmental collapse doesn’t stop for war and autocracy and tyranny, which only exacerbate and accelerate the crisis. Still, the future is not yet written! Let’s come together and push back wherever and however we can. 🌎
