ON VIEW DURING VENICE BIENNALE 2026
SHADOW MAN - ENERGY IN TRANSIT

2 meters, stainless steel
Shadow Man reflects the paradox of modern identity - the desire to be visible everywhere while still protecting something deeply personal inside.
Faceless and universal, the figure becomes a symbol of our generation: navigating global events, digital realities, social expectations, and continuous change.
The sphere held by Shadow Man represents the inner world of the individual - thoughts, values, memories, and identity carried through the systems shaping contemporary civilization.
In this sculpture, the sphere transforms into a metaphor for energy moving through society and infrastructure - temporarily held, protected, and carried forward by the human presence itself.

These mirror-polished stainless steel sculptures transform organic insect forms into sleek, industrial art. Ranging in size from a towering lead figure to a smaller companion, the ants feature smooth, bulbous abdomens and heads that reflect the surrounding factory environment with liquid-like clarity. Their spindly, tubular legs are securely welded to hexagonal metal frames, providing stability while maintaining a sense of delicate balance. Set against the backdrop of a manufacturing facility, these pieces highlight the intersection of precision metalwork and whimsical, large-scale design.

Jakob Grosse-Ophoff’s (.ko.mo ) artworks have racked up hundreds of millions of views online, yet for years, he couldn’t bear to part with the sculptures he had created.
For his debut solo show in Oslo, curator Einar Jone Ronning captured the essence of the artist’s beloved inventions - “In an era where Al writes poetry and robots simulate emotions, Jakob shows us machines that actually feel something. They embody the failures and persistence that define human experience.”

creates hypnotising sculptures of undulating and lifelike forms made of ethically sourced feathers.
Working from her converted Dutch barge, she sorts and stitches dozens of feathers into each swirling composition. Her works capture the natural world’s contrasts - of beauty and revulsion, of wildness and captivity.
