Transforming Our Fairgrounds: A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community

We ended last year’s fair with a single goal: to build the new brand wall. Little did we know that one project would spark a momentum that completely transformed our beloved fairgrounds.
The Fair Board poured incredible hard work into this season. Thanks to the dedicated support of local organizations, memory funds, and grant opportunities, we were able to complete an ambitious list of upgrades.

Major Ground Improvements
* The Brand Wall: The initial project that inspired our entire facility makeover.
* The Breezeway: A major construction effort to enhance our main walkway.
* The Gold Barn: Upgraded with high-quality new piping to replace old paneling, creating a clean and seamless look.
* The Horse Stalls: Refinishing is officially underway and making steady progress.
* The New Fans Project: Launched and completed in collaboration with several groups to improve airflow and comfort.
* Two new floriculture stands completed and fabulous.
* Mural project: one completed, one in progress.

The Rotary Pavilion Partnership

After we committed to these large projects, the Washington County Rotary approached us about building a new pavilion, backed by a massive, successful rotary fundraiser. Although an additional grant application was unfortunately denied, the Fair Board proudly contributed $2,500!!

Thank you, Rotary, for driving this project across the finish line in time for the fair. It provided a wonderful gathering space for everyone, and it was the perfect venue to host Majority Rules. We officially celebrated this milestone—and recognized everyone who helped—with a community watermelon feed and ribbon cutting during the fair.

With Deep Gratitude to Our Partners

A transformation of this scale takes an entire community. We want to extend our sincere appreciation to:

* Washington County News for their excellent coverage of our facility updates.
* Farm Bureau for the watermelon feed
* Washington County FFA Alumni & The Conrad Stewart Memorial for their invaluable partnership.
* Farmers Cooperative and Land O’ Lakes for the Grant
* Washington Community Foundation
* Josh Moeller & Schwab Electric for generously donating all of their labor. Your generosity saved us an entire year of construction time.
* Linn Post and Pipe and Titan West for donating labor on all of the new pipe paneling and paint.
* Kelly Minge for donating her time and talent to bring a beautiful new mural to the fairgrounds. This artwork honors all of our 4-H families in the most meaningful way possible—by giving thanks to our Lord and Savior with whom all things are possible.

To our amazing community: thank you for your continued support of the fairgrounds. We are proud of what we accomplished together this year and look forward to continuing these improvements for generations to come.

Stay tuned right here for next year's fair dates and announcements regarding other upcoming events soon!
