Yesterday tested us.
But this is what small-town community is all about.
The power outages were unexpected and difficult for local businesses, Summer Festival vendors, and even the band. The Embers couldn't start playing because the power kept going on and off. They needed a 20,000-watt generator. Did you know you can rent one right here in town through one of our Summer Festival sponsors?
Through a few phone calls and a community working together, GREGORY POOLE answered the call. Not only are they a valued Summer Festival sponsor, but when our community needed help, they stepped up in a big way. Because of their quick response and willingness to help, a generator was secured, and Craig was able to play for his hometown crowd.
This doesn't happen in many towns. As a matter of fact, it's one of the things that makes us all want to live here. Our businesses, community, friends, and neighbors come together when it matters most.
The City responded quickly to the need, and Gregory Poole went above and beyond to help ensure the show could go on. Their actions were a true example of what it means to be a community partner in Washington and Beaufort County, and we are forever grateful. If you know someone who works for or with Gregory Poole, give them a shout-out in the comments.
The second day of the 43rd Annual Washington Summer Festival is already underway. Please come out to see us!
