The Washington Little Theater Company was established in 1971 by a group of creative individuals who wished to foster, encourage and promote the development of regional talent in the dramatic arts. Their mission was accomplished, at first, under humble circumstances by renting vacant storefronts and school auditoriums around the city to host productions. By 1974, an agreement was made with the Wil

kes County Board of Education to lease the North Alexander School Gym (a National Register - listed property built in 1930), which became the permanent home of the Washington Little Theater. With help from the University of Georgia, a Macon movie house and Six Flags Amusement Park, construction materials, theater seats and curtains were brought in to modify the space from basketball courts to a professional functioning theater venue complete with staging, costume storage, dressing rooms, ticket booth, reception lobby and light and sound booths. In 2008, the theater building was dedicated as the Bolton Lunceford Playhouse after the late Bolton Lunceford, a distinguished member who proved to be pivotal in sustaining the theater over the course of her lifetime.

Junior Campers: Charming!
Once upon a time, the Wicked Stepmothers’ Association (during one of their brilliant evil plans), tried to get rid of all the frogs, but one frog escaped and became Prince Charming. To the stepmothers’ dismay, he continuously rescues each of the queen’s daughters from all the perils that come with being princesses, including the danger of missing their tanning booth appointments!

Furious at this turn of events, the stepmothers want to cast a sleeping spell on the prince. But to make the magic work, he first must wish he was a frog again. In a hysterical scene the likes of which you’ve never seen before, the stepmothers devise so many princesses and others who need rescuing that poor Prince Charming feels like he’s in a decathalon! With the use of every fairy tale cliché imaginable, the surprise ending will have you laughing all the way home!

Senior Campers: The Knights of the RAD-Table
Gwen’s spending her Saturday reading a book and Artie’s riding around on a skateboard. Just typical American teenagers... until Merlin wakes up from a 1,500 year snooze to whisk them away to the days of chivalry! In this fanciful farce about the legend of King Arthur, the most unsuspecting become the most significant when kidnapped by the wicked Morgan La Fey, forcing the king’s bumbling (but loyal!) knights to embark on a quest to save him. On their mission, they encounter a tea-drinking dragon, a dangerous bevy of fair maidens, and the fearsome Black Knight!
