Please help us thank the sponsors of Carnival of Darkness: The Haunted Pamlico Film (and Halloween) Festival. We are eternally grateful.

We're still seeking business and individual sponsors for this event. We met our initial fundraising goal, and need to raise just $200 to cover remaining costs.

If you're interested in making a contribution, send us a private message. And thanks in advance.

Today we had a fantastic time shooting "Call Sign," a short horror film starring Jennifer Latham and Marj Ostlund Harrington.

We shot the film in an old radio station over what is now The Hackney restaurant in downtown Washington, N.C. Several former employees of the station say the studio is actually haunted.

In "Call Sign," a real-estate developer tours the former station to determine its potential for renovation. To her horror, she discovers the disused AM studio never fell entirely silent.

"Call Sign" was shot and directed by S. Kruger, and will be edited by Justin Casey.

We owe special thanks to Jack Willard, for getting us access to the property; to the owners of The Hackney; to production assistant Roberta Kincheloe; and to Marj, Justin and Jennifer for their work on the project.

Tomorrow evening we will unveil the subject of our next ghost hunt and documentary.

Our crew has uncovered some rarely heard stories related to the location.

Our shoot is scheduled for the morning in the historic city of Washington, N.C. Join us tomorrow, when all shall be revealed.

Happy Day of the Dead.

We hope you had a stupendous Halloween season, and that you're enjoying a restful Sunday.

This is a long post, but we think it's worth the time.

Usually, after Halloween, we take a few days off from social media. Not this year. We can't afford to go dark just now. Too many fantastic things are happening. We're not going to post every day, at least for a while, but we'll keep providing fine content on a regular basis.

Here are a few updates:

β€” Today we're announcing the start of the Haunted Pamlico Krampus Project, involving members of our family. These wild men and women will stalk the environs of Washington, N.C., before Christmas. We'll have more on this soon.

β€” This evening we'll announce the winners of our first-ever online costume contest.

β€” We are extremely proud to have been a small part of a record-setting season at the Nights of Fright haunted attraction. Members of our crew were at the haunt Friday night, shooting B-roll for films and doing private contract work for our friends Will and Mandie Boahn, owners of Nights of Fright. Thanks to Will, Mandie and their crew for giving us a haunted home.

β€” We're preparing to announce a collaboration with talented and inspiring folks who want to co-produce films with us. We're drafting the announcement now and hope to release the news this week, if possible.

β€” Tonight we'll send out the final script for our new film, "James Vs. Evol." This, our first sci-fi/horror/action film, goes before our cameras before the end of the year.

β€” Late this month, if all goes well, Roman Leary and the Haunted Pamlico crew will wrap principal photography on Roman's film, "Pretty Polly."

β€” We've got photo shoots galore on the schedule, planning for next year's Carnival of Darkness festival, and the continuation of pre-production on our film "Nebulaphobia," which we'll shoot in early 2021. Stay tuned, fright fans.

Halloween is almost here. The veil is so thin you can almost hear the dearly departed, whispering in your ear, tickling the hairs on the back of your neck, lurking just out of your periphery. Don't be afraid, talk to them. I often do. πŸ–€πŸ’€πŸŽƒ

"Mirror Shadows," directed by Peter Dorn-Ravlin, is one of our online honorees, and an official selection, of Carnival of Darkness: The Haunted Pamlico Film Festival.

And here is an important update: Today we confirmed that a representative of Ruth's House, a local shelter for victims of domestic violence, will attend the festival to hand out literature and answer questions.

We wish to thank the staff of Ruth's House for allowing us to help in the promotion of their fine cause.
